If I would be asked to describe my present thought of Laarni now in a word, it would be LUCKY! She is. Laarni is more than blessed. Luck is always on her side. Laarni is so lucky to have people who do not only admire her(stars always have admirers), but she is luckier to have people around her who get out of there way to make sure her gift is recognized and applauded. Admirers who get out of there way to make sure it would be known how great singer she is and she could become. Laarni's strength is her voice and her fans. Laarni is Lucky to have Casper, everybody's Kuya, to lead her fans, the ever loyal Laarnians. When the group was deciding to elect a new set of officers, there was no second name in my mind, there was only one person that I instantly thought about to become the President, and he is now. I always have an eye for talents and good leaders. I have to say that my secret in gaining the wisdom I earned over the years in this life is knowing and being around the right people. Every person we meet in our every day existense is like a book and once we start opening and reading this book we gain lessons, wisdom, growth. It is important that we learn to find the right books to read, like finding the right people to be around with. So I think, my eye for talent and good leader is also a gift. And it never fails me, I know from the start that Casper would be a great leader for the group: to help make things happen for Laarni and to make it known that the voice of the fans count in the making of a great star. I am so at peace and relax to stay away, paint my heart out and pursue my own passion knowing that everything is taken cared, with the reign of the new set of officers under the leadership of everybody's Kuya. And for that, I think the LUCKY Laarni and every Laarnians should be grateful we have Casper to lead us.
This week, don't be afraid to come closer and befriend Casper, the friendly(not the ghost!) spirit. Enter into the realm of his mind and find out what this Casper is made of. It is great to discover that possibilities are unlimited, and that the limitations only really come from our choice on how much we wanted to take in in this life, which is abundant for those who have an open mind for anything, and possess a welcoming heart to hold every drop that comes from the enriching shower of gifts in this life. This week, tag along the trails of Casper's mind - the well read, the well travelled, the learned and wisdom-filled spirit, whom we could all learn from if we are willing to open a great book before us. For every person is a book. We only need to learn which book to read, and the right people to be around with. I wish you all well. --- 1. FIRST NAME? J0SELITO
2. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? My father is named Jose so I am assuming I was named after him. I was also given a nickname Boyet. So it seems, he wanted me to be his little Jose and little boy that would follow his footstep and carry on his would be achievements in life.Little did my father know that his eldest son in the brood of eight will grow up to be the most headstrong, free-spirited, fiercely independent and will always think out-of-the-box to find a more progressive, not always generally popular, ways of doing things. He will discover that his son will abhor being confined in a niche that he will try to carve for him. He will look for his own place in this life. 3. WHEN DID YOU LAST CRY? I cried in 2003, one and a half years after my family went and stayed in Thailand. I was watching alone in my bedroom this movie “The Family Man” by Nicholas Cage and Tea Leoni. At the end of the movie, a shed of tear or two turned into uncontrollable crying. Laden at first with good intentions, the mutual decision to leave the country to settle in Thailand was tested by internal and external forces with various ulterior motives. The parties involved created a stalemate and this led to the break-up of the family. I have let gone and moved on and just rationalized that there must be a reason why things do happen. Each of us experience heart aches. I do believe that everything that is happening to us, whether good or bad is the best for us. There is a reason why it’s happening or why it happened. If you want to know, then look at the patterns that are always occurring in your life. There is a virtue or a lesson that is to be realized. That is what we prayed for. That is what we have affirmed to learn while we are still waiting for our chance to experience again human life. While in human existence, learning that virtue or that lesson will help our souls in returning to its Creator. 4. WHO ARE THE PERSONALITIES IN HQ YOU ADMIRE, WHY? Lullabye – is the reason why I discovered the HQ. As I say, she is the only singer that can move me. Her voice touches and soothes the heart. For in the dark recesses of the heart resides the restless soul, the soul that yearns to unite with its Creator. That’s why; I really like her renditions of Light of a Million Mornings and What Kind Of Fool Am I. And I hope that her next album will enhance more her softer and spiritual sides. Dlight - along with dekloy, laarni2, laarniTV, kollet89, eugaire and others. I really admire them for uploading those videos of Laarni. They made me very happy and that’s why I am paying for their kindness by paying it forward. I also admire Dlight for creating and maintaining this site. And, I hope her concern could be addressed by the present leadership once the group is fully organized. Jeques & Bless – with Dlight, I admire them for their tireless effort and for thinking ahead on how to keep Laarni’s fans and supporters to be together. I admire them for keeping the decorum in the site most notably sis Bless since she is the ever visible admin. For Jeques, he is still the well-intentioned one. Touchstone48, Mcfellz, and Korex – I admire these guys for we always have a meeting / agreement of the minds. DraRoss, Sharon, Jeneternal, Jinjin – I admire these girls for making me look busy and for others to think I’m doing my job. They are really my tireless workers, without them, I’m nothing. I hope other officers constrained with other pressing concerns can join us. As DraRoss said, “kuya, ala pa tayong isang buwan pero ang dami na nating problema.” TitaLia – I admire her for being always level headed, for giving her ready advice and for the support to the present leadership. Everybody – I admire everybody in the HQ because even though some of us have not met each other, we still treated each other as old acquaintances, friends and families. Keep up the EB, Laarnians! 5. KIDS, PLEASE TELL US ABOUT THEM? I love kids. I had a chance to be a father of two kids in a previous chapter of my present life and if it’s my spiritual purpose to be a vehicle for another kid to fulfill his own spiritual purpose in this lifetime, I would definitely welcome the blessing.I love playing with kids. At the airport, I usually make faces with babies / toddlers while their parents are not looking. I also approach babies in strollers, smile at them and hold their small hands. I usually attract the attention of kids who are running around, hold their hands or carry them back to their parents who can’t leave the queue as the latter are waiting for their turn in the Customs area. 6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
At first, I will really think it’s very difficult to be friends with this person and I will give up any notion to be a friend with him. He seems to enjoy life but he does not want to share his life with any other person. It seems he has his own world. Autistic baga! But it seems he is very level-headed, somewhat opinionated, full of wisdom, very cool except when driving where you can hear the “malulutong na P.I.'s". Sometimes he is arrogant but still he can make a total stranger (a girl) laugh and repeatedly pat him. He does not care what people think of him. His cool detachment to some is very irritating and annoying for he does not call or text back (if he will text back, it’s just a simple: same to you, copy. tnx, or he he he). He will just smile if someone will tell him, “I miss you, or, I love you”. But sometimes, he will reply, “I know, or ikaw, di kita namimiss!” But it seems that he adores Laarni for he has a picture of her on his car’s panel board. By that, I will be friend with him. 7. DO YOU HAVE A JOURNAL? I don’t have one. 8. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT? I don’t call it sarcasm. It’s a mixture of arrogance and humor. 9. WHO ARE THE PERSONALITIES IN HQ YOU WANT TO MEET AND GET TO KNOW MORE. Dlight – I want to know why she gathered these minds, souls and spirits in the HQ. I want to probe her mind to know what led her to this decision.Everybody – Driving home from a recent activity, a co-Laarnian asked; “why is there a constant communication with someone who she has never seen before?” My nonchalant and matter-of-fact reply, “you have recognized each other’s soul.” Reflecting on this answer, “do we really have a soul-connection? Have we met each other before? Are we really time-travelers?” 10. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP? I will not give it a second thought. I want to try it. Name also any similar activities. 11. DO YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE STRONG? Emotionally and mentally, I’m strong. Physically, the wear and tear of being in this 47 year old body is slowly and surreptitiously dawning upon me. 12. YELLOW, RED OR PINK? I am very comfortable and have no issues with those colors. 13. WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF? Sometimes, I really find myself so assertive. But, I’m willing to listen if someone explains to me in a non-confrontational or diplomatic manner the points that I am not getting. I’m also very stubborn by nature coupled with my cool detachment and may be the reason why I can’t be in a relationship.I’m very generous but if someone will borrow money from me, a dilemma will come in. The question will be, “which it is I’m willing to part with: my money or my friendship?”14. WHOM DO YOU MISS THE MOST? I’ve practicing the Spiritual Law of Detachment. I firmly believe that being in this earthly body everyone of us will be sick, get old, will die and we will all leave our loved ones and dearest possessions.I also believe that if there is a bad thing that is happening, IT SHALL PASS. If there is a good thing that is happening, IT SHALL ALSO PASS. If everything seems normal, neither bad nor good thing is happening, IT, TOO, SHALL ALSO PASS. 15. WHAT MUSIC ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW? Aside from the music of Laarni Lozada, I also like the music of Mozart and Vangelis, I am also into Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Sarah Brightman, El Divo, Paul Potts, Gary Granada, Jose Mari Chan, Lani Misalucha, Martin Nievera, Joey Ayala, Pedicab and Yin Yang Twins.16. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE? Neither, I would prefer yellow. For yellow is the color of life. It is the first color that you will always want to perceive when you go out of your abode or look out of your windows in the morning. It is the color that will set your mood for the day. It is also the color of happiness, joy and festivities. 17. FAVORITE SMELL The smell of a baby and a newly-born baby. I also like the smell of my former wife’s armpit, Johnson Baby Cologne for women, Durian fruit, and, (ask the Bicolanos) prepared Dinailan with matching calamansi and diced onion. 18. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE? From the landline of the office, an inquiry. Before that a call from a Las Avidas member in my house landline. As of the moment, Annafe, a friend who just arrived from Italy, is the last person I talked to on my cellphone after that my boss, Jeneternal, Sharon, Kabs and DraRoss.19. THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE? The eyes and the body language.20. FAVORITE SPORT? Table Tennis, Duckpin Bowling and Ballroom Dancing 21. EYE COLOR? I am not really paying attention to the color of my eyes. Maybe brown or black. I’m not bothered to know. What do you think? 22. SCARY MOVIE OR HAPPY ENDING? I would just prefer a feel-good movie whether a scary movie or happy endings. But definitely, I will not watch a scary movie alone in my house. The mere thought of watching a scary movie is already an invitation to the negative thoughts / vibrations to visit your place, what more of watching it alone! Psst! Psst! Psst! 23. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED AT THE MOVIES? I can’t remember. Oh, yes it’s a horror movie starring Eric Quezon (forgot the title) with a friend before she left for Milan, Italy. 24. WHAT COLOR OF SHIRTS ARE YOU WEARING? I belong to the uniformed profession so it’s generally white. Out of my work, any color will do. 25. WINTER OR SUMMER? I have been to countries which have very cold weather and I don’t like it. I hate hot months here in Manila and vicinities more so in many places of Thailand which is always one or two degrees hotter. I would love a place which can provide 12 to 14 hours sunlight with an average daytime / nighttime temperature of 21oC. 26. HUGS OR KISSES? Hugging… kissing… I enjoy it. I also like stroking. 27. WHAT BOOKS ARE YOU READING? I love books. I was first introduced to the hobby of leisure book-reading by Forsyth’s Devil’s Alternative. From there, it just took off. In my younger years, I was, as I mentioned into Forsyth. I was also into Clavell, Ludlum, Puzo, etc. I remembered reading Shogun (4x) because of my fascination with medieval Japan and the lead character Lord Toranaga which have made me realize the virtues of loyalty and patience. After Shogun, I researched further on Bushido and discovered the Art of War by Sun Tzu. I was also into books on political thoughts, mythology, reincarnation and books on psychology / psychoanalysis most notably any books / literature dealing with Transactional Analysis.
From there, I voraciously read the books of Clancy, Grisham, Robert and Graham Greene, Dan Brown, Rowling’s Harry Potter series, Odd books of Koontz, etc. Any books on photography, laws, astrology (western and Chinese), religion especially on the topics Gnostic gospels and the search for the feminine principle will interest me. Since the beginning of 2008, I am occasionally visiting bookstores for any books on ancient and modern warfare. I am searching for strategies employed in battles. Books on global politics, reincarnation, karma, transmigration and any metaphysical books are also part of my trips. My previous and recent reads (From 2008): A Beautiful Mind (2x); Awakening the Buddha Within; Crossfire; Red Star Rogue; Many Lives, Many Masters; Many Mansions; On Atlantis; 20th Century Battlefields; The First 16 Secrets of Chi; The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari; The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success; The Mozart Effect; ULEN: The Path to Power; Enlightenment; and, Who Dies?. WHAT DID YOU WATCH ON TV LAST NIGHT? I am not a boob tube person. I will watch a program if Laarni Lozada will be a guest. I will also find time to watch Battleplan, Battle 360 and Dogfights in History Channel.29. THE FARTHEST YOU’VE BEEN FROM HOME?
I have done extensive traveling both domestic and international. For domestic, I will cite places that I HAVE NOT BEEN: Batanes, Vigan, Pagudpud, Catanduanes, Palawan, Boracay, Bohol, Zamboanga, North Cotabato, Basilan, Jolo, etc. Before, I cite my international trips; let me ask you a question? What is the most important word (can be a two word) that a traveler must know? Not knowing this word when you are in a foreign country may cause you intense pain, unwanted attention, shame or a trip in jail? The answer will be provided later. Now fasten your seat belt and join the revisit of my travels. For international, I will cite countries that I HAVE BEEN. Going west or south west, I have been to New Zealand where I stayed for 8 days. I traveled by road from Auckland to Tauranga to Wellington and by plane to Christchurch. New Zealand is a very beautiful country. The different shades of greens / reds / yellows of the countryside will really fascinate you. It’s like a giant golf course. A real postcard beauty. By the way, it was in New Zealand where I have been to a tundra and where I’ve first seen a snowcapped mountain range. I was also able to travel to the USA where I stayed for 16 days. I entered the country via the west coast: San Francisco, California. I had been a temporary resident of Montgomery, Alabama for my training in Tuskegee University. I visited the usual tourist spots in Washington, DC (White House, Lincoln Memorial, Lincoln Monument, Jefferson Memorial, etc); Atlanta, Georgia (CNN); Baltimore, Maryland (USDA/APHIS office); Miami, Florida (beach, Versace residence, airport and seaport quarantine operations) and Auburn, Alabama (I was very fascinated with the long lines of coasters / campers going to an American football game on my way back to Montgomery from Auburn University.).
Going east, northeast or southeast, I have been to Changsha, Yunnan Province, Mainland China where I stayed for two weeks. On my first Saturday, my host brought me to the birthplace of Mao Tse Tung and his rocky mountain fortress in Shaoshan, Xiang Tan, Hunan province. I really wanted to see a Shaolin temple but got no time and chance. I felt sadness and gloom when I visited the memorial park (museum) of Liu Shaoqi. He is the Foreign Minister of Mao and supposed to be his heir-apparent. But, due to political maneuverings, he was eased out of power and died mysteriously while in captivity. I don’t know what led me, but I amused myself in that memorial park by pretending to be a native and had my future predicted by a soothsayer. If he would only know that my very, very limited knowledge of the Chinese language were confined to few formulaic expressions and how to differentiate a television commercial dubbed in Mandarin from the one dubbed in Cantonese. By that, I did not know if my future was really soothing. I have also been to Vientiane, Laos where I stayed for six days. Vientiane is so rustic and so bucolic. I hope I can come back. Going back to Philippines from Laos, we had a stop over in Vietnam. I told my friend that I will be going out of the airport to see the capital. He accompanied me and we explored the city for 4 hrs. At present, I like going to Pho Hoa because of that side trip in the city. I hope our lawmakers will not sleep on their jobs and not turn the Metro Manila streets similar to Ho Chi Mihn streets where there are a lot of motorcycles. I have been to India where I stayed in Delhi for a night before flying to Hyderabad. My work completed; I went back to Delhi for another overnight stay and a quick visit to Agra. The majestic Taj Mahal! By the way, the first country I visited was Malaysia. I stayed in that country for a combined total of about eleven months. I stayed in Sri Serdang, Selangor; visited the majestic mosque in its capital Shah Alam and went to church with OFW’s in St. John and brought colleagues to KFC in Sungei Wang of KL. Since I’ve done it before, I showed no more interest to ascend the steps of Batu Caves. I enjoyed the beach of historic Melaka; laughed with friends the rides of Cameron Highlands while entertaining the thoughts of playing in its casino. I watched to my mixed annoyance and amusement the movie Pretty Woman where Malaysian-speaking Richard Gere and Julia Roberts were featured in Johor Bahru. From, Malaysia, I visited Singapore twice. Going back from Singapore, it was traffic jam so I went out of our van, and walked the causeway. I felt so free. I felt like I’m a citizen of the world at that time for technically I was not a resident of any country (just went out of Singapore and not yet entered Malaysia through the Johor Bahru border). I was able to go to Thailand for an initial five month stay. It was there that I met the woman who will bear me two children. I kept on going back to that country for a vacation with my then family and later to visit the children. Maybe, a combined 9 months of stay. In Thailand, as per domicile of my then in-laws, I was a non-visa resident in Rangsit, Pathumthanee. I was also able to go to Chiang Rai; Chiang Mai; Lampang, Phitsanulok; Ayutthaya; Sukhothai; Pattaya; Nakorn Pathum (KamphaengSaen and Banglen); Kanchanaburi and of course, Krung Thep. Did I deliberately miss Bangkok in this listing? I also entered the border of Myanmar twice, first was through the Kanchanaburi province of Thailand and the second was through the border near the Golden Triangle in northern Thailand. By the way, the famous Bridge of the River Kwai is in Kanchanaburi. I have not been to Europe, and I wish to enter again USA via the east coast (New York and then Washington, D.C.) so I can say that I have circumnavigated the world. Now, going back to my question? What is the most important word (can be a two word) that a traveler must know? Not knowing this word when you are in a foreign country may cause you intense pain, unwanted attention, shame or a trip in jail? The answer to my question: toilet; comfort room; water closet; W.C.; tandas; hongnam. 30. Would you join PBB if given the chance? I’m too old for that. However, if I’m younger my answer will still be no. Do you know the meaning of PBB? It’s PRIVACY BEING BROADCASTED.I’m very protective of my privacy. My officemates used to tell me before that they want to use my place for a celebration. Now no more, for they know I will say no. Some friends want to go to my place, I always decline. Even just recently, someone told me if they can go to my place. I told her if you will go to my place, I will ask you to clean it. 31. WHERE WERE YOU BORN AND YOUR HOMETOWN? By blood, I am a pure Bicolano because of my parents who hailed from Bula, Camarines Sur. By place, I am a Batangueno because I was born in Tanauan, Batangas. For the past six years, I am a resident of Sucat, Paranaque. However, I consider Los Banos, Laguna as my hometown simply because it was the place where my present thought patterns were shaped. It was also the place where I studied, where I got my present position in the government and where my then family stayed for seven years, It is also the place that I always return to for recharging my internal batteries if I feel tired of city life. Exchanging banters / jokes with friends / former officemates; staying in the ovals of UPLB to feel the air and the touch of the grass while in the same time reminiscing and pondering on the previous and recent chapters of this life; eating in BAAN THAI, a Thai restaurant in Demarses Village or buying Pancit Ulam in TOYANG’S or buko pie from LETY’S as take home will complete my ever always occasional visit to Los Banos. Comments: Thank you for your interest and attention in reading my profile. If you have any question, objection, clarification, violent reaction, etc. to what I’ve written, feel free to post it. I will answer the clarifications / questions within to the best of the knowledge that is available within my grasp. Thank you also sis Fatima. For the next featured profile, I choose Tita Lia aka Donatella or if she is not available then, Sharon. (Note: I would like to feature these 2 ladies in the coming weeks ~ Jeques)
