I write because I feel that something inside me needs to be said, a voice wanting to be heard, a seed needing to see the light of day. . . This corner was created with a purpose in mind to offer all of us a breathing space, a place to relax and refresh, to rest from all the chaos outside our worlds wherever we may be. When Dlight was prodding me to become part of this dynamic group and share my writing, at the back of my mind I was formulating an idea that would make her trust in my gift worthwhile, before I agreed. And so, this space was conceived. Laarnie is the inspiration behind the idea for her voice beaconed and gathered us in this unusual pact which we could now call phenomenal – after all, not in many years that a group of people united for a STAR! I chose my Poem, A Quiet Place To Rest, as header to this corner because that exactly how I wanted this to work for all of us. Most of us here visit, drop by, eavesdrop in the lively chats, browse through many inspiring articles, get connected and meet people that share our sentiments, but more than all these, we come here to find solace in the company of others; to rest our minds and hearts from the cruelty of the world, to be reminded that there is goodness, that there is love, that there is God, that there are other people, there are Filipinos like us from different corners of the world who like us dream and believe. Laarnie’s triumph is our victory, too, because we see in her battles every piece of us, continually thriving to become better; winning our own little battles, making the difference in our own little corners of the universe. This corner serves to inspire. Let this space be instrumental for the inspiration to roll and multiply to million pieces and bring out creativity in us. May this corner become a quiet place to rest for all of us to listen and share our gifts, because it is only when we learn to befriend silence that we could fully hear the songs of our hearts. And when you read my poems and pieces, I hope my written works, the songs of my soul will find home in your hearts. Because when you read them, you are listening to my voice, and I allow you take a peek to my soul. ~ Jeques (a.k.a nonoisebarred)
